Hyderabad Regional Ring Road Information 

340 km Hyderabad Regional Ring Road (RRR) expressway project by NHAI is a proposed 4 lane access-controlled road connecting the towns of Sangareddy, Toopran, Choutuppal, Amangal, and Shankarpally. This new greenfield expressway in Telangana will be developed in 2 parts (northern & southern) under the government’s Bharatmala Pariyojana (BMP) Phase-I program. Telangana Government plans to bear 50% of its land acquisition cost and allocated Rs. 750 crore towards it in its 2021-2022 budget.

The project will be developed in two part’s:

Northern Part with a length of approx. 164 km is estimated to cost Rs. 9,500-crore and will connect Sangareddy, Narsapur, Toopran, Gajwel, Yadadri, Pragnapur, Bhongir, Choutuppal.

Southern Part with a length of approx. 182 km is estimated to cost Rs. 6,480-crore and will connect Choutuppal, Ibrahimpatnam, Kandukur, Amangal, Chevella, Shankarpally, Sangareddy.

Structure

This greenfield expressway will be access-controlled with 4 lanes to begin with, but we’ll have to wait and see what the DPR recommends.

Regional Ring Road Hyderabad Master Plan:

Regional Ring Road is a proposed ring road around the city of Hyderabad, Telangana, India. The story of building a regional ring road has began 10 years back. The main purpose of this project is to improve the connectivity between Hyderabad and surrounding areas. Thus which fastens the development of Hyderabad. HMDA prepared the regional ring road master plan. It is a 6 lane, 330-kilometre-long road, planned on strengthening the existing road network and by adding new stretches wherever linkages were found missing. The Regional Ring Road will be beneficial in connecting the districts around the city of Hyderabad. This project is going to be in stages till 2021, 2031. The total cost of the project is around Rs. 16,000 crores where 50% to be beared by state and remaining 50% by central government.

The Regional Ring Road has been planned with the following objectives:

✳To provide connectivity to new and upcoming areas of the city, to ease traffic on existing roads

✳To provide connectivity to the major industrial corridors of the city and with other cities in Telangana state

✳Regional Ring Road will provide a road that facilitates transportation for commuters as well as goods.

This ring road Connects National Highways 

  •  NH-65 (Pune – Machilipatnam), 
  • NH-161 (Sangareddy – Nanded – Akola), 
  • NH-1 (Hyderabad – Ramagundam), 
  • NH-765D (Hyderabad – Medak), 
  • NH-163 (Hyderabad – Bhopalpatnam) 
  • NH-44 (Srinagar – Kanyakumari). 

This ring road is being built connecting major towns Bhongir-Malkapur-Aagapalli-Kothur-Shadnagar-Chevella-Kaulampet-Narsapur-Toopran-Mulugu
